WORKING IN A SERIES FORMAT

 

My art has developed naturally into a ‘series format’ as that format supports the exploration of a subject without an end purpose i.e. I am not trying to make a specific ‘something’. When I began the study of art in art school, I discovered that the printmaking medium was a natural fit. With printmaking, you make editions or multiple copies of one image and while my ‘series format’ is not a reproduction of one image, I wonder if the idea of multiples or ‘series’ may have already taken root in my brain without my conscious thought.

 

I tend to work on a series for approximately two to five years producing five to ten images each year. The portfolio section of this web site presents four examples from each series.
