In 1987, I returned to Vietnam for the first of what was to become over forty trips. It was during this trip that I seriously began to question everything I thought I knew about Vietnam.  In spite of the devastating war and punishing US trade embargo, I was greeted warmly by everyone I met.

 

My focus shifted from making art to curating exhibitions, creating artist’s books and creating opportunities for Vietnamese artists under the IAP.
